Summer hike

We went "letterboxing" yesterday.

Only trouble is, although we found the location we were looking for- a very clever spot, in a hollow underneath the end of a fallen log- whatever was supposed to be there for us to find wasn't there. Disappointing. It was our first attempt, and now, we're not so excited about trekking off into the wild unknown to look for a hidden... nothing.

Still love the hiking part, though.

Saw this guy move, or I never would have seen him at all.

And then this guy... hard to figure out how to describe him, standing there watching over the forest.

Thanks for the saying comments. Look forward to your list...I love that dead tree sculpture in the woods.
Fabulous. I'm adding your site to my links. About letting go, the older you get the easier it will be to do it. When you get frustrated with this, think about what is most important to you and the little stuff will go through the holes. What if you knew you only had one more day with someone? wouldn't the rest seem unimportant? Holding on to things that bother you takes a lot of energy and can have an impact on your health. LET IT GO.

I never knew about letterboxing until today. Now I will need to make me a carved stamp, and go find me some cool stuff in the mountains here. :)
